Defensive Blade with Slightly Larger Head
- Defensive blade with a head slightly larger than average.
- I tested it with DF1615 long pips (0.8 sponge) and Friendship 729 inverted.
- Offers good control with low power/passive strokes.
- Spin is fairly good.
- Speed is very low (typical for defensive blades).
- With more power, control decreases.
- Opening loops are fairly acceptable.
- Counterlooping and kill shots are difficult to control.
- Mid-distance lobs and “fishing” are satisfactory.
- Mid/long range chopping is not as effective.
- Delivers ample spin but with reduced precision.
- Not the ideal blade for my playstyle.
Characteristics and Suitability
- Exhibits some flex and significant vibration.
- Generates good spin even with rubbers that lack inherent spin.
- Requires effort to execute hard shots.
- May be suitable for “classical defenders.”
- Potentially a good choice for patient pushers/blockers who prioritize spin/placement and exploit opponent errors while staying close to the table.
