Blade description:

The Yinhe Pro 01 is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction that incorporates Arylate Carbon (ALC) layers. It is widely recognized as a performance-oriented alternative to the Butterfly Viscaria. The blade utilizes a Koto top ply, which provides a crisp, responsive feel, and it is characterized by an offensive speed profile suitable for aggressive play.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: The blade offers significant offensive speed, particularly effective for fast attacking near the table and powerful loop-drives from mid-distance. It is notably bouncy, requiring disciplined technique to prevent overshooting the table during short strokes.
  • Control and Dwell: Despite its high speed, users report a reliable level of control, often noted as having a slightly longer dwell time than its direct competitors. This allows for effective ball placement and spin generation.
  • Feel and Stiffness: The blade has a stiff, solid feel with a large sweet spot. While it shares structural similarities with other popular ALC blades, some users find it to be slightly softer or more flexible depending on the specific assembly and rubber pairing.
  • Ergonomics: The blade features a larger, thicker handle compared to several other manufacturers, which may feel more substantial in the hand but could be obstructive for players with smaller grips.

This blade is well-suited for intermediate and advanced players who prioritize an aggressive, topspin-oriented game. It performs consistently across various rubber types, including tacky Chinese-style rubbers and modern tensioned rubbers, making it a versatile tool for those who prefer the behavior and feedback typical of classic ALC composite blades.

This paddle offers a lot of value for its price. It is definitely very fast, so you should be prepared to play quickly.

Generating spin isn’t difficult. The throw angle is low-to-middle.

Blocks are exceptionally fast and can be unexpected for opponents. It also encourages you to attack constantly!

Hi, I own a Butterfly Tiago Apolonia ZLC and I bought this Yinhe Pro 01 blade around a year ago out of curiosity, wanting to see if it was worth playing with.

In the beginning, I was a little skeptical because of the sound it makes when hitting the ball. I used a DHS Hurricane Neo 3 (41°) on my forehand and a DHS Hurricane Neo 3 (39°) on my backhand. It felt very fast, so I changed the rubbers to Yinhe Mercury 2 Soft (Max thickness) on both sides. Since then, my Yinhe Pro 01 has become a joy to play with.

Now I have both speed and very good control and block with this blade. Keep in mind that Yinhe Mercury 2 Soft (Max thickness) rubbers are around €10 each. They’re very cheap, but very tacky and offer excellent control. You just need to learn the correct techniques, and you’ll be very happy with this setup.

Since I bought the Yinhe Pro 01, I’ve stopped playing with my Butterfly Tiago Apolonia ZLC, which is indeed a very good blade, but really fast and hard to control. I play at an intermediate level.

This blade is 90% similar to a Viscaria. If you want a Viscaria but don’t have the money, get this instead. Otherwise, just get a Viscaria.
