Friendship/729 Yellow KLC Advance

Blade description:

The Friendship/729 Yellow KLC Advance is a well-regarded table tennis blade that offers a balanced blend of power, control, and spin, making it suitable for all-around players who seek versatility in their game. It showcases solid construction and a reliable performance that caters to both beginners and intermediate players aiming to elevate their skills. The blade features a combination of flexibility and stiffness, enabling players to execute various strokes efficiently, from powerful spins to precise shots.

Made from high-quality wood, the Friendship/729 Yellow KLC Advance has a medium weight, which allows for a comfortable handling experience without sacrificing speed or stability. Its thickness is optimized to provide a harmonious response, contributing to excellent ball feedback during play. Players often appreciate how this blade helps them maintain a steady rhythm while executing quick reflex shots at the table.

The flexibility of the KLC Advance is one of its standout characteristics; it enables a greater range of spin and control, allowing players to be creative with their shot selection. The blade’s construction supports an engaging feel during play, aiding players in their quest for mastering loops and counters. Furthermore, it possesses a fantastic balance that helps in transitioning from defensive to offensive play seamlessly.

For those considering alternatives, the Friendship/729 Yellow KLC Advance competes well with other all-around blades in the same category, such as the Butterfly Timo Boll series or the Stiga Infinity VPS series, both of which are favored for their own unique attributes. However, the KLC Advance stands out for its unique affordance of taking a player’s game to the next level without breaking the bank, emphasizing its appeal in the competitive table tennis market.

UPDATED! This very nice and inexpensive innerlayer blade has a fairly strong FL grip and a medium-hard ball strike. In my opinion, the feeling conveyed is a bit indirect, which means it lacks a bit of feedback (however, in recent years I have generally played harder blades!). The dimensions of the blade are 157×150 mm and its weight is 87 g. Its speed is in the range to OFF-! Unfortunately, the workmanship is not particularly good. The woods used initially smell unpleasant and are quite soft. I also strongly recommend deburring and sealing the club face! As I found out in various tests with different rubbers, this blade lacks a bit of speed and feedback (in comparison to my other blades). My favorite rubber, the Dig. 09c (FH, max.), is therefore too slow on this blade. After having the Xiom Vega X (FH, 2.0) on this blade for a while, but it had too much cut for me, I finally decided on the Butterfly Glayzer 09c (max., 45 g.)… it harmonizes perfectly with this blade! On the backhand side, the Dig. 64 (1.9 mm, 42 g.) now provides me with sufficient speed, rotation, and control. Conclusion: For me, this is the most beautiful blade ever!… with a small lens on the back of the handle, which is otherwise only known from Butterfly. This blade will be particularly popular with players with larger hands—and its price will please any penny pincher! Even if this blade may lack a little speed, it is absolutely recommendable if you play with more catapult-like rubbers, also for “advanced beginners.”;) …very controlled and pleasant to play. (Also, a Tibhar AURUS Select fits perfectly on this blade!) Addendum: Ultimately, however, I think the much faster, harder, and more direct innerlayer blades Stuor Professional Long 5 and the Sanwei 75 ALC are clearly the better choice.

I was holding off getting this as I thought it would be the same as the 729 yellow alc blade with a bigger, prettier handle. But it turns out the klc feels like zlc, crispy light, like my xvt carbon zlc, Chinese made bty mitzutani. Use the penhold handle, nice and wider than the old model. Think it’s made for the springy 46d hard hurricane type rubber. Big dipper 1 didn’t have much spring, put a layer of chp yellow blk klc on the face, 20dr a square metre AliExpress, feels springy enough for ak47 rubber on fhnd side. Much better. In par with the dearer bty, dhs blades then. pg05x dhs a lot firmer but almost twice the price. Same limba face. This blade will suit most amateurs who don’t nd than much firnness, pros with faster swings should find it whippy enough to counter loop from mid court. Think overall I’d use it more than the earlier models that it’s superseded. Lighter, more zip for the modern low throw fast counters that used now. For 40 Aussie drs its great.
