Butterfly Sriver FX is a classic Japanese-style offensive rubber known for its exceptionally soft sponge and high level of elasticity. Originally engineered to be paired with speed glue, it features a non-tacky topsheet that requires the ball to penetrate deep into the sponge to generate maximum spin. Due to its soft composition, the rubber offers a high degree of control and a significant “kick” or spring effect, making it a popular choice for all-around and developing players.

Performance and Use

• Spin and Speed: Without the aid of speed glue, the rubber is moderate in speed and offers predictable, mechanical spin. It excels at controlled looping and spin-sensitive defensive shots, such as chops and blocks.
• Suitability: It is highly regarded as a backhand rubber, especially for players looking to develop sound topspin technique or those who struggle with blocking aggressive shots. While suitable for offensive play, particularly when paired with a hard blade, it may lack the raw power and hardness required by aggressive or high-level power hitters.
