DHS Hurricane 3 Neo National (Blue Sponge)

Rubber description:

The DHS Hurricane 3 Neo National (Blue Sponge) is a top-tier table tennis rubber designed for players looking to maximize spin and control. It features a high-tack surface that excels in generating aggressive spin, making it particularly effective for forehand strokes. With a speed rating of 9.1 and a spin rating of 9.4, this rubber provides the perfect balance for attackers, allowing them to dominate rallies with powerful loops and heavy spins. The tackiness level is rated at 7.4, providing formidable grip on the ball, though user experiences suggest variations in tackiness among different versions.

Weighing in at approximately 67 grams (cut sheet at 50 grams), the Hurricane 3 Neo National falls into the medium weight category, allowing players to feel the ball without compromising on speed or maneuverability. The sponge hardness is rated at 7.7, which helps with sensitivity upon contact, improving shot precision and consistency rated at 8.8. Durability is another strong point, receiving a score of 7.6, making it suitable for regular play without frequent replacements.

As for alternatives, while some players compare it to other high-performance rubbers like Xiom Omega or Joola Extrem, many reviews advocate for the unique properties of the Hurricane 3 Neo, particularly for those who prioritize spin. However, it’s essential to note that the rubber may not suit everyone, especially players who favor backhand loops or require a softer feel. Regardless, for aggressive forehand-driven gameplay, the DHS Hurricane 3 Neo National (Blue Sponge) remains a highly respected choice within the table tennis community.

Coming from playing with Dignics 09C, the transition for me is smooth. While 09c is a great rubber, its durability is a big problem. With Hurricane National, my short game improved a lot and forehand openings are more spiny. I am loving the rubber so far after one month of usage.

Some time ago, I purchased this table tennis rubber. After about a month of using it, the stickiness completely disappeared and the spin decreased. I didn’t understand why this happened, although some people claim it was due to the conditions in the gym. Overall, it seems like a good table tennis rubber.

Very good ball holding and stickiness, good spin, and control.
