The Friendship/729 Aurora rubber is a standout offering in the realm of low-cost yet high-performance table tennis rubbers. Designed for players who appreciate the unique characteristics of Euro/Japanese style rubbers, Aurora provides an excellent balance of speed, spin, and control, making it a suitable choice for both forehand and backhand play. With solid ratings across the board—speed and spin both at an impressive 9.1, and control rated at 9—it is no surprise that Aurora is garnering attention among enthusiasts looking for value without compromise on performance.
Regarding tackiness, Aurora measures a moderate 1.4, making it less tacky than some counterparts while still allowing for effective spin generation. This characteristic aligns well with its tensor technology, providing a controlled catapult effect that many players find appealing. The rubber itself has a low weight of 3.8, contributing to its overall agility on the table.
In terms of durability, Aurora is rated at 6.8, suggesting it holds up reasonably well during intensive gameplay though some users have expressed concerns regarding consistency and quality control in certain batches. As a more affordable alternative to well-known brands such as Stiga or Butterfly—especially if you’re accustomed to rubbers like the Acuda S2—Aurora presents a genuine prospect for budget-conscious players looking for quality.
For those seeking alternatives, options like the KTL Red Diamond Mechanical or other tensor rubbers might appeal based on playstyle. Nevertheless, Aurora’s unique configuration and competitive pricing make it a notable choice for serious players willing to explore premium attributes without straining their finances.
I’m sorry, but the provided text does not contain information on where to buy the rubber. Therefore, I cannot answer your question.
I ordered this rubber based on reviews I found here and because it seemed to fit my playing style. However, it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
After only about 2 hours of play, some huge blisters started to form on the FH rubber and some smaller blisters on the BH. The rubber was separating from the sandwich. Now when I start peeling at the edge, it’s clear that the rubber is loosely attached to the sandwich.
It’s too bad because it seemed like a good rubber, but I’m not ordering it again.
Wonderful backhand rubber. It is both spinny and fast. You can end the point with a magical loop or a shot.
