The Friendship/729 Blue Advance is an innovative table tennis blade designed for players seeking a perfect balance between speed and control. Crafted with a unique composition that integrates both wood and carbon layers, this blade offers exceptional performance for various playing styles. The Blue Advance is recognized for its versatility, making it suitable for intermediate to advanced players who are looking to enhance their game.
In terms of dimensions, the Friendship/729 Blue Advance boasts a medium weight and a thickness that strikes an ideal balance for players who require both speed and maneuverability. This construction allows for a quick response during fast exchanges, while still providing enough heft for strong offensive plays. The overall design emphasizes a soft feel at impact, which is beneficial for players who utilize spin as a key component of their gameplay.
Flexibility is another key attribute of the Blue Advance. It features a medium level of flexibility that aids in generating spin while maintaining solid control over the ball. This characteristic allows players to execute delicate shots and powerful smashes with ease, making it a favorite among those who value precision alongside aggressive play.
For those considering alternatives, the Friendship/729 Blue Advance competes effectively with other blades in its category, such as the Butterfly Timo Boll Spirit and the Stiga Carbonado series. Each option offers distinct advantages, yet the Blue Advance stands out for its blend of speed, control, and affordable pricing, making it an appealing choice for serious players committed to improving their skill level on the table.

Not a bad blade for the price.
It’s a clone of the Butterfly Viscaria Super ALC. Really nicely made and great for looping.
2024 Dec 25: I upgraded my forehand from Jupiter 3 Asia H40 to Battle 3 H40 (50.5g). The Battle 3 works very well with this Super Vis clone (186g), offering improvements in serve, spin, opening loop, counter loop, speed, control, and feel.
I also want to update my thoughts on the Moon 12 Blue (H-), which works exceptionally well on this blade. I find its backhand loop and opening flick easy to execute due to its high throw and fast speed. For approximately SGD$16, it’s the best backhand rubber for me. I opted for the H- version because of my aggressive backhand style, instead of the slightly softer and slower M+.
2024 Aug 30: This Butterfly Vis SALC clone weighs 94g. I use Jupiter 3 Asia H40 on the forehand and Moon 12 Blue H- on the backhand. This blade is magical when combined with medium-hard rubber for modern attackers who favor powerful drives, flat hits, and smashes.
Backhand-centric players will appreciate the high reaction, resulting from both the stiff and hard Koto blade (both should be rated much higher than 5-6) and the fast Moon 12 Blue. This blade is approximately 5% faster than the Stuor Nobilis (SZLC) but offers 5-10% less dwell time. I use it when I’m in the mood for direct attacks or when playing with a slower ball to speed things up. It’s available for only SGD$35 on AliExpress, a great price for such a direct blade.
