This review focuses on the Loki K5, priced around $50, not the K5 Pro (also known as the W81 Pro). Note that these blades resemble each other (the W81 has a golden star in the lens), but the key distinction is that the W81 features outer ALC, while the K5 has inner ALC. I transitioned to this blade from the Stiga Infinity VPS five years ago, which now serves as my benchmark.

The K5’s structure consists of Limba - Ayous - ALC - Ayous - ALC - Ayous - Limba. Long stroke players will find this blade particularly appealing, especially those who prefer Chinese rubbers, as it enhances their performance. Upon switching from the Stiga Infinity VPS, I had no difficulty adjusting. The blade provides excellent control in the short game while delivering increased power when necessary. It represents a significant upgrade for me, enabling me to generate the same power with less effort without compromising the short game.

Backhand flicks are equally effective and effortless on the K5 as they were on the Infinity VPS. The FL (flared) handle resembles the Stiga Legend handle but is not quite as thick. The K5 handle is notably smoother out of the box compared to the Stiga Infinity handle. If you’re considering switching to a carbon blade, the K5 comes highly recommended.

Very cool and high-quality blade! I have it and enjoy playing with both the Euro tensor pad and the Chinese Velcro. Before that, I tried the model Arthur K3 Walnut+Spruce+ayous. This is a purely wooden 5-layer board—also very good. But after trying K5, I realized this is what I was looking for.
