Stiga Carbonado 145
Blade description:
This Stiga Carbonado 145 is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction. It is designed for aggressive offensive play, characterized by significant speed and a very large, consistent sweet spot that allows for reliable performance across the entire face of the blade. The construction provides a high level of stability and a solid, rigid feel, which minimizes vibrations and ensures a predictable ball trajectory during power loops and blocks.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Dwell Time: This blade is categorized as high-speed, requiring an active, full swing to maximize its potential. While some users find the stiff composition limits dwell time, others report that it offers sufficient contact time for generating heavy spin, particularly on topspins against backspin.
- Control and Feel: The blade is known for its ability to place the ball with precision. It performs well in the short game, though its inherent speed may necessitate pairing it with medium or soft rubbers to maintain balance and prevent the ball from launching too quickly.
- Physical Attributes: Users report that the blade feels lighter than its actual weight (often around 92 grams). The handle shapes vary, with some users praising the ergonomics of the Legend handle, while others note that the handle finish can feel rough or uncomfortable, occasionally requiring sanding for a better grip.
- Suitability: Due to its speed and stable, rigid nature, it is well-suited for offensive players capable of commanding high-speed rallies. It is frequently noted as an effective option for Reverse Penhold Backhand (RPB) play.

Felt hollow and odd feeling. I sold it thereafter.

Very nice, fast, and controllable blade. It’s fast but not too fast. The dwell time is very long, so topspins and serves will be loaded with spin. The throw angle is high, so topspins against backspin are no problem.

One of the best rubbers ever!
