Blade description:

This all-wood defensive blade is manufactured in Sweden and features a larger head size compared to standard offensive blades. This increased surface area contributes to a wider sweet spot, providing a forgiving feel and exceptional consistency for both defensive and all-round play.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Spin: While categorized as a defensive blade, it maintains enough power to support spin-heavy looping and smash attacks. Users note that it facilitates high-spin production and effective, spinny slow loops when paired with appropriate offensive rubbers.
  • Control and Feel: The blade is designed for high-level ball placement and stability. Users report minimal vibration, providing a solid, dampened feel that is well-suited for close-to-the-table blocking and precision chopping from mid-to-long distances.

Suitability and Pairing

  • Versatility: Beyond traditional defensive setups involving long pips or anti-spin rubbers, this blade functions effectively for players transitioning from all-round equipment who prioritize placement and tactical disruption over raw power.
  • Construction: The blade utilizes a high-quality NCT veneer finish. Its architecture supports a wide variety of rubber combinations, accommodating everything from specialized defensive long pips to dynamic, high-tension offensive rubbers for those looking to leverage its inherent control for a more aggressive game.

This blade is incredible! The control is insane, and the speed and spin are also top-notch. It’s even better than the Tibhar Power Defense that I’ve been using for the past three years. With this blade, all of my shots are consistently good, whether it’s blocking, chopping, looping, or smashing. It pairs exceptionally well with the Stiga Vertical 55 in 0.6 long pips. It’s a great combination.

As I am not a defender, I play with a lot of spin and heavy loops. I found that this ‘spin on a blade’ was incredible. I conducted an experiment by taking one of these amazing beauty def+ blades and adding the best rubbers available on the market: Tibhar MX-S Max black on the forehand and Andro Rasanter R47 on the backhand. Since then, I have been unbeatable. I have very high speed, but the power of spin is absolutely insane. It may seem like a strange combination, but I know a few high-end players who have done the same. You get a dreamy amount of control!

Perfect slow and still fast enough to do some spinny slow disturbing loops with Rakza7 1.8 mm soft. I thought this blade had little power, but I was wrong.

The blade gives ultimate control and plays very well in a defensive/all-round game with Juic Neoanti 1.8 mm and gives great control blocking close to the table and for chops 2-3 meters away from the table.

A quality blade, the head is a little bigger compared to ordinary Stiga blades. I think that makes the blade more forgiving. I had a hard time finding this with an anatomic handle; it was out of stock at Stiga.

Having played with all+ blade for many years, I find that this blade takes my game to a higher controlled level.
