Victas Hino-Carbon Power

Blade description:

This composite blade features a 3+2 construction, utilizing outer plies of hinoki wood paired with carbon layers. It is characterized by a “non-linear” performance profile: the blade remains controlled and relatively slow during soft, low-effort shots, but transitions into high-velocity power when swinging with greater force. The hinoki outer layers provide a soft, distinctive feel and increased dwell time, which facilitates high spin potential.

Playing Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: Offers a high top-end speed suitable for offensive play, particularly loop kills and close-to-the-table attacks. It is well-suited for aggressive blocking due to the large sweet spot.
  • Control and Feel: The hinoki wood contributes to a soft, tactile sensation at contact, reducing unwanted vibration. Users report excellent feedback, allowing for precise placement despite the blade’s potent speed.
  • Balance and Handling: The blade is generally lightweight, with many units weighing under 83 grams, though it features a slightly larger head size (160mm x 153mm). The weight distribution is noted as well-balanced, avoiding a grip-heavy or head-heavy feel.
  • Physical Design: Features a comfortable handle, though some players may find the grip design to be thinner than standard blades. The construction is noted for its high-quality finish, often arriving with pre-beveled edges.

This blade boasts a large sweet spot and good speed.

It exhibits classic non-linear Hinoki characteristics: when playing low-effort shots, the blade is very slow; however, when playing high-effort shots, the blade is very fast.

It’s good for blocks and loop kills, has above-average spin, and features a very comfortable handle. Furthermore, my blade had pre-beveled edges out of the box, eliminating the need for sanding.

Well-balanced hinoki-carbon blade that is neither head- nor grip-heavy, despite having a larger head (160mm x 153mm) compared to other blades.

It produces less vibration when hitting the ball and offers a soft feel due to the Hinoki cover. This blade is well-suited for play near the table and at half-distance, allowing for both power and spin.

This is most probably the best “hinoki-carbon-Kiri-carbon-hinoki” blade under €100.

The relatively thick hinoki plies give a very nice touch and control. This blade is very similar to the Butterfly Amultart.
