Victas Fire Fall VC

Blade description:

This blade is a high-performance, 5+2 construction composite model featuring a core of Kiri wood, an Ayous layer, and Vectran Carbon (VC) fibers under Limba outer veneers. Designed for players seeking a versatile balance between offensive power and technical precision, the blade is characterized by a stiff composition that maintains a surprisingly natural, wood-like feel, providing excellent feedback during both delicate short-game exchanges and high-impact shots.

Performance and Handling

  • Speed and Power: The blade features a high gear ceiling; it remains controlled and approachable during passive play or defensive pushes, but becomes noticeably fast and energetic when the carbon layers are fully activated through aggressive strokes. It is particularly effective for driving, smashing, and powerful topspin play.
  • Control and Trajectory: The blade offers a medium throw angle, allowing for low, net-skimming arcs that are highly effective for spin-oriented players. Its reliability in the short game—such as serve returns and flicking—makes it highly forgiving compared to traditional high-speed composite blades.
  • Versatility: While well-suited for a wide range of offensive styles, it is frequently noted for its exceptional performance with short pimple rubbers, where it allows for disruptive, low-trajectory blocking and crisp, aggressive drives.
  • Physical Characteristics: The build quality is consistent with high-end standards, offering a balanced weight distribution that is not overly heavy. The blade provides a stable, stiff platform that excels in both mid-distance looping and at-the-table counter-topspinning.

This is my second purchase from the same manufacturer, Victas has proven their name well in the market of high brands. This blade could be double the price if it was from Butterfly with the same quality and function. Highly recommended.

High-end product, high quality; perfect combination of defensive and offensive materials all gathered in this racket.

I have the KIHARA MIYU 90th limited edition blade, which is a FireFall VC with a special blue and purple FL handle. I use it to train my “Chinese style” game, with Victas VJC>07 Sticky Extra rubber on both sides. The result is very similar to Hurricane Long 5 (HL5) blade with H3-50 rubber.

Victas is slightly slower, offers more control, has a lower arc, but the feeling is really close. In the short game, VJC>07 is quite forgiving (the ball rarely goes out). After a couple of hours of adaptation, I am able to loop easily, either brushing on the top sheet or driving through the sponge. When both the sponge and the carbon are activated, the result is blazing fast. Feedback is good with a woody touch.

Victas provides a very good alternative to DHS here. I tried with a pair of Triple Double Extra rubbers to get even closer to the “Chinese style,” and the result is faster and spinnier, but less forgiving. Since it’s a training setup, I will revert back to VJC, which is more versatile.
