The Butterfly Sriver G2 is a versatile table tennis rubber that offers a balanced combination of speed, spin, and control, making it a popular choice among players of varying skill levels. It strikes a commendable balance with a speed rating of 11 and a spin rating of 9.5, making it well suited for aggressive playstyles that still require precision. The rubber features a medium-soft tackiness level of 2.5, providing enough grip for effective loops and settling well for both offensive and defensive strokes.
Weighing in at a medium level, the Sriver G2 feels manageable on an array of blades, letting players execute their strategies without feeling weighed down. Its sponge hardness of 5 ensures a solid touch while enhancing consistency (rating 9.3), allowing players to interact seamlessly with the ball during rallies. Durability is an essential factor for many players, and the Sriver G2 stands firm with a durability rating of 7.9, thanks to quality construction that keeps it performing well even after extensive use.
As for alternatives, while some players still prefer the original Sriver for its classic feel, the Sriver G2 is recognized for providing a bit more pace and spin than its predecessor. That said, some users suggest that for players seeking high-level spin, a rubber like Tenergy 05 might be worth considering, despite its higher cost. Overall, the Butterfly Sriver G2’s blend of versatility, control, and reliable performance makes it a solid choice for both beginners looking to improve and seasoned players seeking a reliable rubber option.
This rubber was the first I put on my backhand site 2.0 setup, and I love it. It offers great control and good rotation. Its speed is medium-high, but trust me, you can also play offensive games with it. As an amateur player, I’ve found it to be durable for a few years.
Better on off ~ off+ blade with a medium-hard feel.
You can improve your stroke to the next level.
It is one of the best BTY rubbers I have played.
