DHS Gold Arc 3
Rubber description:
This rubber is a versatile, hybrid option primarily favored for backhand play. It features a sponge that offers significant grip, allowing the ball to “bite” into the surface for reliable contact. Players note that while it possesses offensive capabilities, it maintains a level of control that makes it suitable for both defensive exchanges and close-to-the-table counter-attacking.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Dwell: The rubber provides a fast response when attacking but requires a short adjustment period to calibrate the trajectory. Compared to highly bouncy alternatives, it offers a more stable feel during short pushes.
- Spin and Control: It is capable of generating consistent spin, with a performance profile that many users compare to high-end professional rubbers. It excels at close-table play, providing a balance between offensive speed and the accuracy needed for defensive play.
- Physical Properties: The sponge is relatively heavy, which contributes to its solid feel during impact. It is categorized as a responsive rubber that performs well when paired with carbon blades that offer some flex.

I obtained a piece of rubber from one of the players on our first team. I had always used another DHS rubber, but he did not like it.
While I found it to be acceptable, I personally prefer the Hurricane 3 and 8 rubbers from the same manufacturer. However, I must admit that I only used it for a couple of days before giving it away.
