DHS Hurricane 3 Neo 37 Soft

Rubber description:

This rubber is classified as a sticky (tacky) rubber, serving as a softer, more manageable iteration of the traditional Hurricane 3 Neo series. Designed primarily for backhand use, it features a softer sponge that prioritizes control, consistency, and a high-arcing trajectory for looping over raw speed.

Performance Characteristics

  • Spin and Control: The rubber offers high control and the ability to generate significant spin during pushes and loops. While effective for technical development and controlled play, it is noted to be less demanding than harder Chinese counterparts, making it accessible for players transitioning into tacky rubbers.
  • Speed and Dwell Time: It displays a linear response, meaning the speed increases proportionally to the input power applied by the player. It is often described as feeling “mushy” or “dead” on passive shots like blocks or drives, requiring the user to employ full, aggressive looping strokes to extract optimal performance.
  • Suitability: Because of its safety and predictable response, it is highly regarded for backhand development. It excels when paired with faster blades to compensate for its inherent lack of explosive speed, as slow blades combined with this rubber may cause defensive shots to drop short into the net.

Usage Notes

  • Tackiness: The level of surface grip may vary depending on the sponge color, with some reports indicating the red version is less tacky than the black version.
  • Maintenance: The rubber is often treated by users with boosters to enhance the feeling of the sponge, though it is engineered to be functional in its stock form for aggressive, consistent playstyles.

It is a rubber that gives you a lot of control while also giving you the possibility to add a lot of spin to the ball. The only thing is that on serves, it’s a bit harder to generate spin on the ball.

H3 Neo 37 Soft is the European rubber born in China. This is the basis of any new hybrid technology in the rubber/sponge quest of any physically fit player. With a consistent aggressive style. No boosting required.

For backhand, it is stronger than forehand, using this rubber for push is more stable.
