DHS Hurricane 3 Provincial 38'

Rubber description:

The Hurricane 3 Provincial 38’ is an inverted rubber designed for offensive players who prioritize spin and control over raw speed. This rubber, a variant of the popular Hurricane 3 series, is likely a provincial-level version, suggesting a higher quality control and potentially a slightly different formulation compared to the standard commercial version. It’s known for its tacky topsheet, which allows for exceptional grip on the ball, generating heavy topspin on serves, loops, and pushes. The 38’ designation likely refers to the sponge hardness, indicating a medium-soft sponge that provides a good balance between dwell time and power.

Due to its tacky surface and medium-soft sponge, the Hurricane 3 Provincial 38’ excels in close-to-the-table play and mid-distance looping. It allows for precise placement and controlled blocking, making it a good choice for players who like to dictate the pace of the game with spin variations. While not the fastest rubber available, it provides ample power when combined with good technique and body rotation. This rubber is particularly well-suited for players who rely on spin-oriented attacks, short pushes, and controlled blocking to win points. It’s a popular choice for forehand rubber, especially for players transitioning from softer rubbers or those seeking more spin potential.

Good rubber, but it requires a lot more effort to be put into your strokes if this is used as a backhand rubber. Will definitely come back to it later, but not now.

Took time to break in, but after a while, it was amazing.

Very good rubber - consistent and easy to use. As with most rubbers, a lot depends on the blade used. I use a 3 ply / Hinoki / SZLC / Kiri - Off + blade. The rubber is linear so you get what you put into it. This blade and rubber combo has great control, above average spin, and the speed is more than impressive. It’s taken me years of EJing to finally settle on a blade and rubber combo that definitely works for me. I have to admit I do boost with 2 layers of Seamoon when new, don’t boost after, and change around the 4-6 month range.
Hard to beat table tennis for price when on sale and you know it’s a genuine product from TT11.
