The DHS PF4 40+ is an exceptional table tennis rubber that strikes an impressive balance between affordability and performance. Designed primarily for players looking to develop their skills, this rubber features a tacky topsheet that effectively grips the ball, generating excellent spin and enhancing ball control. With a speed rating of 105 and a spin rating of 50, it proves to be versatile enough for both offensive and defensive playstyles. The PF4’s medium-hard sponge (with a hardness rating of 7.5) allows it to handle soft shots well, granting players the ability to execute precise placements and easily lift backspin.
In terms of tackiness, the PF4 boasts a solid score of 7.3, making it a reliable choice for those who prefer a rubber that supports heavy spin. However, players should note that while its tackiness provides a great grip on the ball, it may wear down with extensive use, emphasizing the importance of maintenance. The rubber’s weight is rated at 6.2, classifying it as lightweight, which contributes positively to maneuverability at the table.
Regarding durability, it receives a slightly lower score of 5.9, indicating that while it can last a significant time, it may not hold up as well as some higher-end rubbers. Nevertheless, it remains a favorite for many beginners and intermediate players who appreciate its excellent performance-to-cost ratio. Alternatives to the PF4 include higher-end models from DHS’s Hurricane series, but these come at a steeper price. Overall, the DHS PF4 40+ serves as an excellent training tool for players looking to refine their strokes while enjoying solid control and spin capabilities.
My first review: This rubber plays very well on flexible to medium flexible blades. My example is the 7-ply DHS PG7. I use this black, max sponge, on the forehand. The SMASH HIT (no spin on it) is very good, if you know the angle to hold the racket and works perfect if you do it fast on a backspin ball. I do not think it works well on stiff blades, but who knows…
It’s very good to do backspin SERVES and Serves in general.
It’s a little bit hard, but you can get used to it. Good for POLYBALL. (China rubber ^^)
I think this rubber can LAST A VERY LONG TIME without losing its properties, even if it will not look like brand new.
It’s very good for ADVANCED players. By the way, the player who wields it matters, not so much the racket.
Nice for beginner to intermediate players, it offers great value at this price range.
Good rubber for novice.
Blade: YINHE N11s.
