Donic Bluestorm Big Slam
Rubber description:
This rubber is categorized as a Tensor sponge rubber, characterized by its soft, light-weight sponge and a grippy, thin topsheet. It is designed to provide a distinct, resonant sound upon contact and offers a notable catapult effect. Due to its soft mechanical properties, it provides a high degree of tactile feedback, allowing players to maintain a strong sense of ball feeling during various strokes.
Playing Characteristics
- Spin and Control: The rubber excels in generating heavy spin for topspin attacks and offers reliable control for tactical play. It performs effectively when returning spin-heavy serves and blocking aggressive loops, making it suitable for both close-to-the-table play and mid-distance rallies.
- Speed and Feel: While it provides sufficient speed for offensive maneuvers, it is prioritized for its soft feel and ease of use. The light weight contributes to improved maneuverability, particularly when used on the backhand side.
- Suitability: It is well-regarded by players who prefer a softer sponge composition. However, it may not be suitable for those who require a stiffer, more rigid sponge to support more aggressive or specialized hitting techniques.

The rubber is awesome for me and my current level of play for table tennis. It has a soft sponge and great spin and control. I love it.

If you have been using a hard sponge, you will probably really not like Bluestorm Big Slam. The soft sponge just doesn’t do much. The sound is okay, but not worth the poor performance. If you like a soft sponge, it might work for you.

Do not buy this rubber if you want to learn a good technique. The grip is inconsistent, and topspins don’t generate much spin. I recommend getting a different ESN rubber instead.
