The Donic Acuda Blue P2 rubber is a premier choice for players seeking a balance between speed, spin, and control. With a high rating of 9.4 overall, this rubber is a tensor type, renowned for its ability to deliver impressive performance in offensive play styles. Its topsheet provides a unique blend of grip and responsiveness, making it suitable for looping, driving, and active blocking. Players appreciate its capacity for generating significant spin, particularly on forehands, while also maintaining decent control, especially during various stroke techniques.
In terms of tackiness, the Acuda Blue P2 has a rating of 2.8, placing it on the lower end of the tacky scale, which can benefit players who prefer a more direct and precise interaction with the ball. Weighing moderately at 43-44 grams, it remains lightweight enough for extended periods of play without causing fatigue. The durability of this rubber is commendable, rated at 7.3, meaning it can handle considerable playtime before showing signs of wear, although some users report a decline in performance after approximately 20 hours.
For those considering alternatives, options such as the Acuda Blue P1 or P3 are worth noting, as they cater to slightly different playing styles. While P1 provides a harder sponge for more aggressive strokes, the P3 may appeal to those prioritizing spin and control in their game. Overall, the Donic Acuda Blue P2 stands out as an exceptional choice for intermediate to advanced players looking to enhance their spin-based offensive play while maintaining superior control.
I got back to table tennis after approximately 17 years of hiatus. Prior to that, I was playing at a professional level.
I must admit that it was quite a shock that new/different balls are in play, and with that, all the technology changed so that fresh gluing is basically redundant. My dad is still a coach, so he helped me out and put together a blade that I currently play with, but it is becoming a bit slow already. It’s an OSP Expert with Donic Acuda Blue P2.
Firstly, I have to admit that when I saw what I got, I was a bit skeptical. I was always a Butterfly player, but I was still anxious to try what I got, and I was fairly surprised. My game was always about rotation, spin, and playing with the ball, and this rubber did allow me that. I was able to produce insane amounts of rotation—serve, wrist motions only, lots of rotation, great control. Forehand spin is amazing. When I got secure with the stroke, I was able to place the ball anywhere on the table with insane amounts of spin.
On backhand, the rubber offered a lot of control, a nice feeling, and was able to block nicely. The rubber is also quite nice for power strokes, but the launch angle is more suitable for spin play. Still, it doesn’t bite if you smack the ball a few times.
What Donic says about their own rubber is so true: It is a feel-good, do-all topspin rubber. I use it on my backhand, and it allows me to do everything. It is not too heavy (43-44g, 2.0mm), gives good spin (not great spin), and my backhand topspins fall down on the table if I brush the ball. Flat hits are also very good because of the medium or maybe medium-low throw angle. Certainly, pros won’t be satisfied with it, but for an average Joe like me, this is one of the best there is for backhand play.
Perfect rubber for spin.
