Donic Acuda S2
Rubber description:
The Donic Acuda S2 is a tensor rubber featuring a medium-hard sponge and a grippy, non-tacky topsheet. Designed as a versatile offensive rubber, it is widely utilized by both advanced and technical all-round players for its balanced performance across all areas of the table.
Playing Characteristics
- Spin and Speed: The rubber offers high spin potential, particularly when engaging the sponge through aggressive loop strokes. It delivers solid offensive speed that remains linear, meaning the output is directly proportional to the player’s input.
- Control and Dwell: It is frequently praised for its excellent control, which allows for precise blocking, counter-smashing, and consistent short-game play. The rubber provides a noticeable dwell time, helping players execute spin-heavy loops and reliable service returns.
- Throw Angle: Generally characterized by a medium to medium-low throw angle, which aids in controlled flat hitting and aggressive blocking.
- Sensitivity: While it offers good grip, the lack of tackiness makes it relatively less sensitive to incoming spin compared to traditional tacky rubbers, facilitating easier serve receive once the player adapts to its speed.
Performance and Compatibility
- Versatility: The S2 is effective on both the forehand and backhand, providing a “multi-gear” experience that allows for both slow, controlled shots and faster, power-oriented attacks from mid-distance.
- Equipment Pairing: It performs well on a variety of blades, including carbon and all-wood constructions. It is often described as a reliable, high-performance alternative to more expensive market-leading rubbers, offering a similar playing feel but with slightly more manageable speed.
- Durability: The rubber is noted for good longevity, maintaining its playing characteristics over many hours of training, though some users note that performance can vary based on specific manufacturing batches.

I have tried T05/T05 Hard/T05 FX/T19/T80 FX. Acuda S2 has the same spring sponge, not as bouncy but more control and easier response on every shot. I don’t know if I will ever go back to Tenergy. I am using Acuda on the backhand and forehand. I am also using ZLC blade.

I love S2, especially on the forehand side.
