Friendship 729 Higher 2 is a highly versatile table tennis rubber suitable for various playing styles, from aggressive attackers to controlled all-rounders. It is designed to provide a perfect balance of speed, spin, control, and durability.
With a speed rating of 12, Higher 2 offers impressive acceleration and excellent offensive capabilities, allowing players to generate powerful topspin shots and explosive smashes to overwhelm opponents. The high spin rating of 12 further enhances the attacking prowess of this rubber by enabling heavy spin generation, making it challenging for opponents to return the ball.
Higher 2 also excels in control, earning a rating of 12 in this aspect. It provides a high level of precision and consistency, ensuring that players can execute their shots accurately and confidently, even in tense situations. The moderate tackiness level of 4.6 contributes to the rubber's controllability, enabling players to impart a desired amount of spin and manipulate the ball's trajectory with ease.
In terms of durability, Higher 2 is known for its exceptional longevity. It can withstand frequent play and maintain its performance characteristics over a prolonged period, making it a cost-effective choice for players who value longevity in their equipment.
The Friendship 729 Higher 2 is a popular choice among recreational and competitive players seeking a versatile rubber that combines speed, spin, control, and durability. Its well-rounded nature makes it suitable for a wide range of playing styles and skill levels.
I had this in 2.2mm Black on my Yinhe T-8 blade. I tried it on both my backhand (BH) and forehand (FH).
It felt too slow, even on the Off T-8 Carbon Arlylate blade. I also felt like it lacked the spin that I was accustomed to with 729 rubbers.
I only trained with it for about 10 hours and decided to discard it. It was a complete waste of money for my spin driving game at mid distance.
It might be more useful for a beginner who is looking to build or order their first customized bat.

This rubber excels in spinny serves and modern defensive playstyles. It provides exceptional control but lacks speed.
I tested this rubber in both offensive and defensive styles. Here’s my recommendation:
For players prioritizing control and placement over powerful attacks, this rubber is highly recommended. It’s also well-suited for defenders, who will find it easy to chop and execute various techniques near the table.
In offensive situations, this rubber imparts significant spin on topspins but lacks speed. Therefore, players should focus on precise placement or powerful smashes.
