The Bolgard is a dream for my playing style. I use short pips on the forehand, and it gives the perfect sensation of “holding” the ball while still producing a fast, crisp shot.
The kiri core provides good speed and rebound, and the hinoki top ply gives good control. Normally, I don’t like carbon, but the Arylate material works very well.
I think it helps with the feeling of “holding” the ball, especially on blocks and rolled loops, and it makes the sweet spot feel bigger.
I don’t know why Butterfly doesn’t make composite Jpens like this anymore. I guess there is not much demand.
