Butterfly Zhang Jike
Blade description:
The Zhang Jike ALC is a composite offensive blade featuring a 3+2 construction of Arylate-Carbon layers. It is widely recognized for its balanced performance, offering a medium stiffness that bridges the gap between traditional wooden blades and high-speed carbon alternatives. The integration of Arylate fibers provides a distinct dampening effect, which grants the blade a soft feel and significant dwell time, making it highly effective for loop-oriented offensive play.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Dwell: The blade functions with a dual-gear character; soft touch shots allow for precision and control, while aggressive strokes engage the carbon layers to produce substantial power and speed.
- Feel and Control: The Arylate component acts to refine the responsiveness of the carbon, resulting in excellent control during the short game, including blocking and pushing. It is noted for having minimal vibration, providing a clean, connected feel to the player.
- Versatility: While primarily designed for looping, the blade is capable of consistent performance in various areas, including precise flicking, counter-looping, and mid-distance play. It is generally considered a highly balanced instrument suitable for all-around offensive styles.
Design and Build
- Construction: The blade utilizes a 3+2 composite structure, typically measuring around 5.7mm in thickness.
- Ergonomics: It is frequently praised for its handle comfort, which is often described as more substantial or ergonomically refined than comparable composite blades in the same family.
- Balance: The blade is noted for being well-balanced, which contributes to its agility when transitioning between different strokes and distances from the table.

This blade is made of high-quality wood and has a good feel in the hand. It provides good control and power, but the ball tends to wobble when hit at high speeds. The blade is also quite heavy, which can make it difficult to use for extended periods.
Despite these drawbacks, the blade is still a good choice for beginners or intermediate players who are looking for a blade that is easy to control and provides good power. However, more experienced players may find that the blade is too slow and lacks the precision needed for competitive play.

XVT Dragon ALC plays better than this non-linear crap.
#3 — December 2021
This blade has a very poor touch in shots and blocking. Despite being made in Japan, it plays as if it were made by Reaktor, which is known for low-quality products.
