Blade description:

The Butterfly Primorac Carbon TAMCA 5000 is a high-performance table tennis blade that seamlessly combines speed and control, making it a favorite among aggressive players. Crafted with a sophisticated composition, this blade features three plies of wood (with a Kiri core and outer layers made from Cypress or Hinoki) paired with two plies of Tamca 5000 carbon. This unique blend enhances the overall feel, offering exceptional playability for those who like to dominate the game with powerful shots.

Weighing about 92 grams and measuring 6.9mm in thickness, the Primorac Carbon falls into the medium-heavy category, providing stability without sacrificing maneuverability. Players will find its stiffness rated at 7.3, which ensures that this blade responds promptly during fast exchanges and powerful smashes, though some may note a bit of a learning curve in terms of control, especially for loops. The hardness rating of 8 gives the blade a solid touch, allowing players to execute aggressive strokes with considerable confidence.

While the Primorac Carbon is recognized for its extraordinary speed—with a rated speed of 9.5—it offers enough control (rated at 6.7) to satisfy those who possess advanced skills. However, for those still developing their game, it might seem a bit too fast. Players looking for alternatives with a slightly softer touch may consider other options like the Butterfly Timo Boll ALC or the Donic Waldner Senso Carbon, which offer differing balances between control and speed. In essence, the Butterfly Primorac Carbon TAMCA 5000 is tailored for experienced players who demand speed and power in their game while maintaining the option for effective blocking and spin.

This is a great paddle, offering excellent speed and, with the right rubbers, good control. It feels light and fast. However, I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t have solid footwork.

My main issue is the high level of vibration; you feel it a lot when hitting the ball. It takes time to adjust to, especially if you’re an intermediate player, but once you do, it can be lethal.

Update: The wood is excessively fast, and the vibration remains very high.

Great blade.

My first professional blade, which I had for more than 8 years, is a good choice for an aggressive game. It was not easy to control the ball before the 40+ ball was introduced, but now it’s much easier to play with. It’s good for blocking and flat hitting. I find it easier to spin the ball with the new balls, and it has more control. I still play with it from time to time. My usual blade is TB Alc.
