Butterfly Gergely 21
Blade description:
The Gergely 21 is a high-speed, composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction. It is characterized by extreme stiffness and a hard feel, providing virtually no vibration upon contact. Due to its rigid nature, the blade produces a distinct, crisp sound during impact and delivers significant power, making it a specialized tool for aggressive, high-velocity play.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Power: The blade excels in flat hitting and smashing, offering high ball speeds that perform effectively both close to the table and from mid-distance.
- Tactile Feedback: Because of its stiffness and lack of vibration, the blade provides a direct, unmuted connection to the ball, though it offers minimal dwell time.
- Spin and Control: Spin generation is limited compared to more flexible blades, as the blade’s rigidity favors flat, low-trajectory shots. Players may find it challenging to impart heavy spin, which makes the blade better suited for hitting through loops rather than engaging in high-arc, spin-heavy rallies.
- Utility: The blade is well-regarded for blocking, specifically for generating low, fast, and disruptive returns, including those executed with long or anti-pips. While aggressive offensive players may appreciate the speed, the lack of elasticity requires precise technique to maintain control.

No Vibration! You can play easily in battles against your opponents. It’s one of the most powerful blades I’ve tried.

As an intermediate player, I have used this blade for the past three to four years, changing the rubbers as needed.
The blade is stiff, making it an excellent choice for countering and killing loops while playing close to the table. Its speed is impressive, providing support when playing away from the table. The blade allows you to focus on spinning the ball, while it takes care of the speed.
Blocking can be challenging initially, but once you develop a good feel for the blade, blocking becomes more effective, with the ball remaining low and fast.

A beautiful and stiff blade. Using T80 (BH) and Rasand Turbo (FH), it is best for smashing the ball. However, it has very low spin and control.
