Review of Hadraw Shield Table Tennis Blade

Initially, this blade was not on my radar. However, I had the opportunity to purchase a nearly new Hadraw Shield secondhand, so I decided to give it a try.

To my surprise, this blade is not slow and is well-suited for the plastic ball. I have played with the Matsushita Pro Model (MPM) for years, and I would say that the Hadraw Shield is an upgrade of the MPM. It is slightly harder, stiffer, and faster, but with the same fundamental characteristics.

I am almost bewildered because I intended to simply test it, but I am genuinely impressed by its quality. Chopping is excellent on both wings. Additionally, I have noticed that long pips become more dangerous with the Hadraw Shield, as it enhances the low trajectory while defending and allows for aggressive and disruptive pushes. Its power while attacking is immense.

Overall, there is nothing negative to say about this blade. I simply love it. The Hadraw Shield design is straightforward but aesthetically pleasing to me.

[My preferred setup is Tibhar Grass D-Tecs (0.5mm) on the backhand with Mark V HPS (2mm) or Evolution MX-P (1.8mm) on the forehand.]

Great quality, like other Butterfly blades.

This blade is claimed to have the same structure as the Shibutani Pro model (though I’ve never used one). It is quite similar to the Matsushita Pro model (MPM) in every aspect, with a bit flexier and longer handle.

If you are looking for a replacement for the MPM, then look no further.
