Butterfly Primorac EX

Butterfly Primorac EX - mainButterfly Primorac EX - composition

Blade description:

This is an all-wood offensive blade designed for players who prioritize looping as their primary attacking weapon. It offers a balance between speed and control, providing a slightly faster performance than the classic Primorac while retaining the familiar playability of the series. Its moderate stiffness and soft feel allow for reliable feedback, making it effective for close-to-table and mid-distance play.

Performance Characteristics

  • Play Style: Optimized for looping, with sufficient power for blocking and smashing when paired with correct technique.
  • Feel and Feedback: The blade is noted for its softness, which contributes to high control and the ability to accurately place shots. It is not overly stiff, allowing the player to feel the ball during contact.
  • Versatility: The blade pairs effectively with a variety of rubbers, ranging from high-tension spin-oriented rubbers to more traditional all-around options. It maintains a consistent performance even when using rubbers with different throw angles or bounce characteristics.
  • Handling: Featuring an attractive handle design, the blade is generally perceived as well-balanced. While the flare handle is comfortable, some users may find the grip size to be on the smaller side.

Bought this blade and have been using it almost every day. I paired it with DHS Hurricane Neo 3 (forehand) and Friendship Cream Transcend (backhand), and I am very pleased with the overall performance. The blade offers excellent control, considering the high throw of the backhand rubber and the springy bounce of the forehand rubber. Despite the additional weight of the Neo 3, the blade still feels very light. The stiffness of the blade is manageable, allowing me to sense the ball’s location and execute higher-quality shots. This blade is highly recommended for those seeking an edge in competition.

The control on this racket seems to be good because of its softness, allowing me to provide better shots. It is not too stiff, and the speed is reasonable. The blade is not too heavy, so I can provide some fast shots, but I think I will get a lighter penhold bat. Loops are also good with this blade. I use Tenergy 25 with this blade, but I think I need faster speed, so I will upgrade to Tenergy 64.

This blade is exceptional. Out of all the blades I have used, this one is the best. It offers excellent control.
