Stiga Active
Blade description:
This is a composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction. It is designed for offensive play, characterized by high speed and a notable ability to execute flat, powerful shots. Users report that it offers a medium-hard feel upon ball contact, providing a lively bounce that performs well during aggressive exchanges.
Performance and Feel
- Offensive Capabilities: The blade generates significant speed, making it suitable for offensive-minded players who prioritize pace over touch. It is particularly effective for direct, flat-hitting styles.
- Feedback and Vibration: The vibration levels are reported as moderate, providing enough sensory feedback for the player to feel the impact, though it does not lean toward the extreme stiffness of some high-end professional composite blades.
- Suitability: While opinions on difficulty vary, the blade is frequently cited as a viable entry point for those transitioning into offensive play. It pairs effectively with modern tensioned rubbers, allowing for a balanced, high-velocity setup that competes with more expensive alternatives.

The wood has good bounce and a medium-hard feel. It hits the ball well, similar to the Butterfly Sardius, but it is not as strong or hard.

The blade lacks some control, but it makes up for it with a good amount of speed. Flat hits go blazing fast with this blade. However, it is not recommended for beginners due to the lack of control. It may be a better choice for the advancing offensive player. The blade also pairs well with OFF rubbers like Donic Baracuda, M2, and S2.

I bought one of these blades from our local store for $17. Believe it or not, this blade can compete with other blades worth hundreds of dollars. I equipped it with Sriver el and Globe 999, and it is fast. I recommend this blade for beginner and average offensive players.
