Stiga Allround Classic Carbon

Blade description:

This blade is a composite model featuring a 5+2 construction, utilizing thin carbon layers to enhance the traditional performance characteristics of an allround wooden blade. It is designed to bridge the gap between classic control-oriented blades and modern offensive gear, offering a balance that favors consistency, precision, and a high degree of touch for the user.

Playing Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: The blade functions primarily in the allround to allround+ range. While it offers a crisp feel and improved dynamic response over pure wooden counterparts, it is not categorized as an ultra-fast offensive blade. Its performance is highly dependent on rubber choice, where pairing it with faster or harder rubbers can significantly boost its attacking capabilities.
  • Feel and Feedback: Users report a notable level of vibration, which provides clear ball feedback and a sensitive touch, often associated with the classic Stiga feel. The stiffness is generally considered moderate; while the carbon layers add a crispness to the contact, the blade retains enough elasticity to remain intuitive during a variety of strokes.
  • Control and Versatility: The blade is highly regarded for its large sweet spot, which increases the success rate on off-center hits. It excels in the short game, blocking, and serving, making it a reliable choice for players who prioritize accuracy and consistency.
  • Weight and Construction: Being generally lightweight, the blade offers excellent maneuverability. The 5+2 construction ensures that players gain the consistency needed for learning fundamental strokes while benefiting from the expanded sweet spot and slightly increased speed provided by the carbon integration.

Hello guys. I am currently using the Stiga Infinity VPS. My training partner is using Classic Carbon.

We changed blades (but not rubbers). Here is what I found:

Classic Carbon pros: - Shorter serves - Spinnier serves - Better control (much less errors) - Better balance between stiffness and flexibility - From intermediate level very easy to adapt to this blade. - More fun, more smile. - Once the ball is under the table easy to “bring it back to the game”.

Cons: - The further you are (from the table) the harder rubber you wish on this blade.

Conclusion: - The more experienced you are (with it) the harder rubber makes this blade really unforgettable. Simply amazing what you can do with it…

Excellent all-around+ blade. It offers substantial control, a superb feel, minimal vibration, and average stiffness and hardness. Looping becomes a pure delight when paired with moderately hard rubbers like Mark V HPS. It is also ideal for short games and blocks. While not exceptionally fast, it provides adequate speed for offensive, controlled gameplay. It combines the control of the Allround Classic with the enhanced speed and sweet spot of carbon. It is highly recommended for all-around players, beginners, and intermediate players.

Elastic blade with amazing control. The weight of mine is 81g. There is no lack of speed when attacking (probably dependent on a inverted rubber).
