The new Cybershape AC and CL Wood blades are both versions of the original, which are widely used. I purchased both the Cybershape Wood and Clipper blades because they were both priced at €170.

I have been using the Cybershape Clipper for a month now and am still adjusting to the blade. The backhand, in particular, gave me some initial trouble. The handle is thin and small, but not too small for my regular-sized hands.

The arc is lower than the CL Wood, and the blade is also harder. The blade speed is off; when looping, it is similar to the Innerforce Layer ALC.

The soft outer layer provides a lot of spin. While the blade is not flexible and is actually quite stiff, it still provides good spin. Blocking is very stable, but you need to move forward a bit more to give it more speed. Chop blocking is very spinny and easy to do.

I feel that I have to use a lot more technique with this blade, which is good for my development. I am a 1650 Dutch rating player.

My recommendation is to purchase the Cybershape Clipper version instead of the Wood. The Wood costs more and is 20% slower. Hybrid rubbers on the forehand and hard/medium tensors on the backhand work best for me with this blade.

The Cybershape shape plays very similarly to the classic Clipper wood. However, the new shape adds a bit of extra dimension to experiment with. The Cybershape Clipper provides a bit of extra stability, control, and power. The flex is still as good as the original, if not better, and it’s very easy to generate crazy spin.

The only downside is that it’s slightly head-heavy, but you tend to forget about it during play because it’s not too head-heavy. In fact, for those who have used Stiga blades, it actually feels like the WRB (hollow handle) version without the handle actually being hollow on the Cybershape.

Overall, it’s an excellent blade with an engineered shape that really makes a difference in your shot. I found it quite noticeable when testing it with the regular shape Clipper wood. I really like both shapes and I think they have their pros and cons, but both are great.
