Stiga Intensity NCT
Blade description:
This is a high-performance all-wood blade designed primarily for advanced offensive players who prioritize spin and loop-based play. It is characterized by a lightweight construction and an extended dwell time, which facilitates high levels of spin generation and provides a distinct, natural feel during contact.
Playing Characteristics
- Looping and Spin: The blade excels in topspin rallies, particularly from mid-distance, offering a medium-high throw angle that produces a deep, looping trajectory. The combination of flex and dwell time allows for significant “carrying” of the ball, making it highly effective for technical offensive maneuvers.
- Speed and Power: While it offers sufficient power for attacking, it is not optimized for flat hitting or aggressive smashing. Users may experience a lack of penetrating power when blocking, as it is less rigid than composite alternatives, making it more reliant on precise ball placement than brute force.
- Feel and Control: The blade provides excellent feedback, allowing for consistency during soft touch play and close-to-the-table exchanges. It remains stable during hard hits despite its flexible nature, though it is generally not recommended for beginners due to the technical proficiency required to manage its specific offensive properties.
Design and Construction
- Material: All-wood construction.
- Physical Properties: Known for its lightweight profile, which enhances agility during rapid rallies. The head size typically measures 155×150 mm, contributing to its maneuverability.
- Target Audience: Best suited for high-level players who emphasize a spin-oriented, variable game rather than those relying on pure speed or passive blocking.

Super for looping. The ball is loaded with spin and has a long dwell time, meaning you can carry the ball on the blade for an extended period. However, it is not the best blade for blocking and smashing due to its defensive limitations.

Blade for loppers!!! The blade is made of 5 layers of wood and 2 layers of carbon. The outer layers are made of limba, which is a hard wood that provides good control and feel. The core layer is made of ayous, which is a soft wood that provides good spin. The carbon layers are placed between the core layer and the outer layers. They provide extra stiffness and power.
The blade has a medium weight and a medium balance. It is suitable for players of all levels. However, it is especially well-suited for players who like to loop. The blade provides good control and feel, which makes it easy to execute loops. It also provides enough power to generate good spin.
Overall, the blade is a good choice for players who like to loop. It provides good control, feel, and power. It is also suitable for players of all levels.

I consider Intensity NCT the best blade out of everything I own. I have Stiga Infinity, Donic Ovtcharov True Carbon, Nittaku Violin Carbon, Stiga Carbonado 45, and Stiga Maple Wood V NCT, just to name a few.
The speed is Off-, but the control is definitely the best I’ve ever felt. Plus, it has a long trajectory with a medium throw angle. There is some flex, which makes looping very easy, but there aren’t any vibrations when you hit hard. The blade itself is also very light.
The only thing this blade isn’t good for is blocking. Blocks are okay, but they are not that threatening unless you have good ball placement. But with its good control, you can easily make up for this shortcoming.
All in all, if you want a lightweight looping blade with excellent control, this blade is for you.
