Stiga S-3000

Blade description:

This is an all-wood offensive blade characterized by a distinctively bouncy feel and significant vibration upon impact. The construction produces a springy sound during contact, which some players find helpful for feedback during loop drives, while others may find the high level of vibration to be a distraction.

Playing Characteristics

  • Speed and Dynamics: The blade is categorized as fast and offensive, offering a lively rebound effect. Its bouncy nature makes it effective for aggressive attacking shots but requires a learning curve for players seeking high levels of precision.
  • Feel and Feedback: Due to the material composition, the blade provides high sensory feedback through vibration. The sweet spot is relatively small, which can make consistent shot placement more challenging for inexperienced users.
  • Build Quality: As an all-wood entry-level option, the handle ergonomics and material density have been noted for their lack of robustness. The blade is prone to wear over extended periods of heavy use.

Player Suitability

The blade is positioned as an affordable option for those looking to transition into offensive play styles. While it offers enough speed for varsity-level or intermediate play, the sensitivity to impact and the specific vibration profile make it a demanding choice that requires time to master. It is generally less suited for those prioritizing a dampened, stable feel or extreme ease of control.

My first table tennis blade! It is good for learning new skills.

I can produce good spin and serve with it. For beginners, I think this blade is enough.

However, it is a bit hard to control. The Stiga S-2000 would be a better choice if you want more control.

I have had this blade for two years and it is not suitable for a middle player. The blade is very weak (wooden tissue) and the handle is not good. After two years, it broke and had to be repaired. Overall, this is a weak blade and I do not recommend it for any player. Thanks.

It is a very good blade for intermediate players, like those in varsities. It gives good control and speed.
