Composite/carbon
I have the KIHARA MIYU 90th limited edition blade, which is a FireFall VC with a special blue and purple FL handle. I use it to train my “Chinese style” game, with Victas VJC>07 Sticky Extra rubber on both sides. The result is very similar to Hurricane Long 5 (HL5) blade with H3-50 rubber.
Victas is slightly slower, offers more control, has a lower arc, but the feeling is really close. In the short game, VJC>07 is quite forgiving (the ball rarely goes out). After a couple of hours of adaptation, I am able to loop easily, either brushing on the top sheet or driving through the sponge. When both the sponge and the carbon are activated, the result is blazing fast. Feedback is good with a woody touch.
Victas provides a very good alternative to DHS here. I tried with a pair of Triple Double Extra rubbers to get even closer to the “Chinese style,” and the result is faster and spinnier, but less forgiving. Since it’s a training setup, I will revert back to VJC, which is more versatile.
We have tried different rubbers on this new blade design for 2018: Rhyzer Pro 50, Z1 Turbo, Omega 7 Asia, Omega 7 Tour, R50. For pimples out rubbers, we only considered Blowfish+ and VO>103 because they are the best rubbers for both aggressive and all-round styles of playing.
For short pimple players, the VC is the best blade, especially with VO>103. It is also suited for strong topspin and countertopspin players at the table. On drives and blocks with the short pimple, the ball sinks very low on the table, and the trajectory is very unpleasant for the opponent. You can execute a wide range of shots with good control, including short blocks, fast blocks, side blocks, passive blocks, and soft topspins. With the Blowfish, you have a better disturbing effect but lower control.
The throw angle of the blade is medium, and the power, control, and spin are outstanding. The speed is also very good, which is why we used rubbers with a thickness of 2.0mm. Each rubber has different features, but all of them provide a significant amount of spin. On serves, the spin is wonderful; you can keep the ball low with a huge amount of spin. The blade is also fantastic for short shots like return of serves or short-short play in backspin. Depending on your style, you can find the rubber that fits perfectly for you. For smashes and soft opening topspins, for example, the best combination is with Z1 Turbo and R50; for strong forward topspins over the table, it is with O7Tour; and so on for the other rubbers.
The blade is stiff, but you still have a very good touch feeling. At the end of the tests, all the players agreed that the VC is better for short pimple players. However, some spin-oriented players liked the VC more than the AC, but we know that tastes are subjective. I personally love the VC, and the same is true for the other players. I can highly recommend this blade; the workmanship is very good, and the features are top-notch. It’s really a wonderful blade. Bye everybody!!
I use Rakza 7 FH and Rakza X BH, a good combination for my playing style. The blade has a good feeling for short, mid, and far distances. I never imagined I could perform a variety of shots, including a good drop ball loop, controlled blocks, flicks, and smashes with even more power. Moreover, it is not too heavy. It costs less than other high-end carbon blades and satisfies me very much. My only complaint is the carbon fiber coming out from the handle.
I tried the Butterfly amultart before, and this blade is on par with it!
I also used the Stiga Infinity and Intensity, but they are both much slower but have more control than this blade.
Although a better control blade like the Gergely will win in terms of control, it will lose in speed.
The arc is the best!
It is easy to give a low arc near the net.
However, if you don’t control it, it will surely hit the net.
Blocking is easy, but if you receive a hard hit, the ball will surely go high.
This is one of the best Firefall series for me!
As for the LC and others, they are below par in terms of speed and control.
This blade is definitely my favorite!
