Yinhe MC-2

Yinhe MC-2 - mainYinhe MC-2 - handle

Blade description:

This all-wood blade features a classic 5-ply construction, specifically designed for players prioritizing spin generation and touch. It offers a balance of flexibility and stiffness that provides stability during power loops while maintaining a high level of control for technical development.

Performance and Feel

  • Playing Style: Best suited for close-to-the-table play and spin-oriented looping. It is particularly effective for players developing their looping technique and those who prefer a controlled, tactical game.
  • Dwell Time and Touch: The blade is noted for its significant dwell time, which facilitates heavy spin production. It provides a comfortable, communicative feel that remains stable during aggressive exchanges.
  • Speed and Distance: The blade performs optimally at close and mid-distances. Users often note that power output diminishes significantly when playing from long range, requiring more physical effort to generate pace compared to more powerful offensive alternatives.

Construction and Compatibility

  • Composition: This is a 5-ply all-wood blade with no composite or carbon layers.
  • Rubber Pairing: The blade demonstrates high synergy with tacky Chinese-style rubbers, such as DHS Hurricane or 729 series. Due to the blade’s moderate speed, pairing it with firmer, spin-heavy rubbers helps maintain control while compensating for the lack of inherent power away from the table.

MC-2 is a stable blade with good control and the ability to generate spin. This blade is on the stiffer side, providing good stability while performing power loops from mid-distance. It pairs well with DHS TG2NEO (FH) and G555 (BH). I am highly satisfied with this blade and would recommend it to a friend.

Paired with 729-08 49-degree FH and 47 BH, this budget setup was initially intended as a backup paddle to keep in the office for playing with coworkers. However, I unexpectedly ended up using it as my main blade. It is an excellent option for beginners, offering superb control and the ability to generate significant spin with forceful hits.

One drawback is that it lacks power when playing farther from the table. I recommend considering 729-08, 47 FH, and 45 BH as an alternative setup.

Great 5-ply off- blade for spin-oriented players. Loads of dwell time and excellent for looping.
