Yinhe Uranus U-4 (U2004)
Blade description:
This all-wood blade is constructed as a 5-ply structure, characterized by a noticeably thicker build compared to thinner offensive blades. The increased thickness contributes to a higher level of stiffness, which provides more inherent power for offensive play. Despite this added rigidity, it retains a classic wooden feel, though it is less flexible than similar thin-ply offensive blades.
Handling and Performance
- Feel and Feedback: The blade features a hollow-core handle design which enhances the tactile sensation and control during play. It provides a distinct wooden feel, but users should note that the blade can feel dampened if paired with excessively hard rubbers. Pairing it with softer, more elastic rubbers is recommended to maintain sufficient feedback.
- Playing Characteristics: Due to its stiffer construction, the blade performs well for players seeking a direct strike, though it may require specific rubber pairing to optimize performance for spin-heavy shots or touch play. It is generally regarded as a controllable option suitable for those transitioning into different equipment setups or for players developing their fundamentals.
- Weight: The blade typically weighs in the range of 83 grams, making it relatively lightweight and maneuverable for a blade of its thickness.

It’s not a Stiga CR clone, as I own both blades. This blade has to be paired with soft rubbers; otherwise, you’ll lose feedback. I used it for a long time with H3 Provincial on the forehand and changed my backhand many times because I couldn’t find a suitable rubber until I put on Butterfly Flextra, which was really good.
I would not recommend this blade anyway, and no sweat because they stopped selling it ;).

Very controllable blade. I tested this with Yasaka Mark V, the same rubber I use to test all my blades. It’s got good all-wood control and feeling, perhaps thanks to the hollow in the handle. It works very well for someone looking for a first blade, or looking to try something different.

Well, most people think that it is just a clone. I think it is stiffer than Stiga OC, and it is more powerful. You can see it is thicker.
