Butterfly Bryce FX is a highly regarded table tennis rubber known for its exceptional speed and versatile performance, making it an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced players. With a speed rating of 12, this rubber delivers impressive velocity, while its spin rating of 9.5 ensures ample spin for aggressive topspin shots. The control rating of 8.2 allows players to maintain precision, particularly for those who can master this powerful rubber.
One noteworthy characteristic of Bryce FX is its low tackiness, rated at 1.5. This feature may affect the grip on the ball, particularly for spin-heavy serves and strokes, which some users noted as a drawback. Despite this, many players appreciate its soft sponge with a hardness of 2.8, which contributes to a unique feel during play, although opinions on the softness vary. Weighing in at 4.3, it is categorized as lightweight, making it comfortable for extended play. However, some players mentioned a quicker loss of performance, citing durability as a concern, reflected in its 5.1 durability rating.
For players seeking alternatives, Butterfly offers options like the Sriver and the Bryce Speed series, which provide different speed and spin characteristics. While Bryce FX excels in offensive play, those desiring a more consistent and durable rubber may prefer these alternatives. Overall, Butterfly Bryce FX is celebrated for its speed, spin, and control, appealing to players aiming for aggressive and dynamic playing styles, though it may require careful handling to ensure longevity in performance.
The rubber is too soft, the speed is too high, and the arc is too low. However, it is pretty good and consistent if you prefer soft, speedy rubbers with a low arc.
I liked it slightly better on the BH than the FH.
I use this rubber on both sides of my blade. It has helped me develop my backhand topspin and forehand topspin. With the FX version, it is very nice for blocking on both sides. I recommend this rubber to a player who is moving through divisions and wants to improve their shots.
I liked this rubber when I first bought it. The speed was good, and it was effective for topspin. I also found that it provided perfect control. However, the durability was not good. After a few months of use, the speed was significantly reduced.
