Rubber description:

Butterfly Flextra is a versatile table tennis rubber designed primarily for beginners and recreational players. Featuring a medium-hard sponge that provides an excellent balance of control and spin, this rubber helps players develop their skills without overwhelming them with excessive speed. Flextra’s unique composition allows for a lightweight feel, making it easy to maneuver and facilitating long playing sessions without fatigue.

In terms of tackiness, Flextra has a moderate rating, providing enough grip to generate spin on serves and loops. However, compared to higher-end rubbers, its tackiness may fall short, which is noted by more experienced players seeking aggressive spin and speed. For competitive environments, players might find that other options—like Butterfly’s Sriver or various Chinese rubbers—can offer greater performance than the somewhat subdued capabilities of Flextra.

Flextra’s lightweight nature (2.7 out of 5) adds to its appeal, making it a comfortable choice for a long duration of play. The durability of Flextra is decent, rated at 6.7, but caution is advised as rough handling can lead to quicker wear and tear. Feedback from users consistently highlights this rubber as a good starter option, specifically for its forgiving nature, which makes it suitable for developing both offensive and defensive strokes.

For those looking for alternatives, Butterfly Sriver and various options from Palio, such as the CJ 8000, are recommended as potential upgrades after players outgrow Flextra’s capabilities. Overall, Butterfly Flextra is an excellent entry-level rubber, allowing players to hone their skills before transitioning to more advanced equipment as their techniques evolve.

My first rubber glued to a racket, I used it on the Butterfly Andrzej Grubba racket, an ALL+ racket.

My impressions are that this is a rubber for absolute beginners. It comes in 2.0 thickness and is very light. It does not produce enough spin, nor is it fast enough, which makes the rubber very easy to use. Counter spins are very light due to the rubber’s characteristics. The throw angle is low.

Overall, I would recommend the Butterfly Sriver instead of this rubber, because it is better in every way for the same money.

Una gran goma para principiantes.

Si estás iniciando en el deporte, es ideal.

This was my first rubber, and I am not impressed at all. The rubber is not fast at all and does not have much spin. I really have to hit with all my power so that the ball goes fast. I would not recommend this rubber, even to beginners, because you will very quickly ask for a new, better, and faster rubber than this one.

The only advantages are that it is super cheap and available everywhere.
