Butterfly Sriver G3 FX
Rubber description:
The Butterfly Sriver G3 FX is a tensor rubber characterized by a very soft sponge and a high-tension topsheet. It is a versatile, mid-to-fast offensive rubber that prioritizes a balanced performance across all strokes rather than specializing in a single area. Players often find it to be a forgiving option for intermediate levels, providing enough speed for aggressive play while maintaining significant control for technical shots.
Performance Characteristics
- Throw Angle: This rubber produces a distinctively high throw, which is beneficial for looping and attacking but requires precision during blocking to keep the ball on the table.
- Spin and Dwell: It generates high levels of spin, particularly during serves and looping sequences. The soft sponge allows for a decent amount of dwell time, making it an effective tool for generating spin with relatively low physical effort.
- Speed and Power: While it performs well at mid-distance, some users find it slightly slower than top-tier professional rubbers. It remains linear and predictable; however, it has a “bouncy” quality that requires an adjustment period. When paired with faster blades, it can achieve high velocity, making it capable of powerful smashes and loops.
Tactical Suitability
- Versatility: It is widely regarded as a “do-it-all” rubber, suitable for looping, chopping, and serving. It performs well as both a forehand and backhand rubber, though it is frequently favored for backhand play (including the Reverse Penhold Backhand) due to its control and ease of use in quick transitions.
- Durability and Feel: The rubber is known for its lightweight construction and longevity. While the topsheet and sponge are soft, the material is durable enough to maintain its playing characteristics over time. It offers a consistent, linear feel that appeals to club-level players looking to bridge the gap between recreational equipment and high-performance professional gear.

And incredibly rewarding piece of equipment when used correctly. Would you recommend for an intermediate player as very fast and difficult to control?

Physical:
The rubber comes in typical BTY packaging with protective paper. The rubber itself is very soft with a dark yellow sponge and has medium-sized pores.
Spin and Speed:
This rubber pleasantly surprised me. Despite its low ratings, it delivers spin and speed comparable to the T64 fx. Its trajectory is exceptionally long, as is common with BTY rubbers in the modern era. The rubber grips the ball well, resulting in excellent spin and speed. Blocking and quick backhand actions are effortless. I suspect the top sheet of this rubber may share similar tension and chemical composition with the T64. Like other tenergies, the G3 fx has a high-tension top sheet, which may become harder with time.
Who Should Use This:
Due to its price, this product is not recommended for beginners. Its fast and soft nature may appeal to European players on their backhand. While it can be used on the forehand for control, it lacks the typical sharpness of forehand rubbers. Average club players are likely to be satisfied with this rubber.
Have fun and enjoy table tennis!

Es un jebe muy ligero, de buen control y rapidez considerable para un juego no profesional. Más bien será un previo a poder usar esponjas más rápidas que requieren mejor técnica.
