And incredibly rewarding piece of equipment when used correctly. Would you recommend for an intermediate player as very fast and difficult to control?
Physical:
The rubber comes in typical BTY packaging with protective paper. The rubber itself is very soft with a dark yellow sponge and has medium-sized pores.
Spin and Speed:
This rubber pleasantly surprised me. Despite its low ratings, it delivers spin and speed comparable to the T64 fx. Its trajectory is exceptionally long, as is common with BTY rubbers in the modern era. The rubber grips the ball well, resulting in excellent spin and speed. Blocking and quick backhand actions are effortless. I suspect the top sheet of this rubber may share similar tension and chemical composition with the T64. Like other tenergies, the G3 fx has a high-tension top sheet, which may become harder with time.
Who Should Use This:
Due to its price, this product is not recommended for beginners. Its fast and soft nature may appeal to European players on their backhand. While it can be used on the forehand for control, it lacks the typical sharpness of forehand rubbers. Average club players are likely to be satisfied with this rubber.
Have fun and enjoy table tennis!
Es un jebe muy ligero, de buen control y rapidez considerable para un juego no profesional. Más bien será un previo a poder usar esponjas más rápidas que requieren mejor técnica.
Used it briefly for forehand 2.1mm on Timo Boll W7. It is very similar to G3 with a slightly different touch feel. It has the speed of Bryce and control of Solution. Great for topspin play but is slightly slow for a modern-day FH rubber.
It works best for backhand. Performs equally well for far table as Sriver G3 but a tad slow for close table. Good control and throw angle so it’s best for all-round players and DEF players. Don’t be fooled by the softness because when you add power to your shots, it can be very fast.
I use Sriver G3 FX with the Sardius blade and TSP Super Spinpips on my backhand. I’ve been using this setup for almost a year and have changed my rubber with the same type twice (once every six months).
The Sardius blade makes the ball run very fast, and with the G3 FX on it, you don’t have to use a lot of power to make the ball running. It’s good for chopping and spinning, but you have to be aware of the angle of your blade if you want to block the ball.
I love this rubber because it can do everything well. This is the rubber for me, and I will never change my forehand rubber. I find chopping, serving, looping, and smashing a breeze with this rubber.
This rubber is a great choice for beginners. It offers good control, allowing players to execute shots with accuracy and precision. Despite its control-oriented nature, the rubber still provides decent speed, enabling players to generate enough power for effective shots. Additionally, the rubber generates enough spin to facilitate a wide range of shots. Overall, it is an easy-to-use rubber that strikes a good balance between control, speed, and spin.
I have been using this rubber for reverse penhold backhand play for a while now, and I believe it is a good candidate for that purpose. It offers pretty decent control, good spin, and versatility in terms of gear. However, its speed is not particularly fast. I would recommend it for backhand play for both shakehand and penhold grips.
My best friend has it, it’s the coolest rubber ever! Once he got used to it, he managed to spin from one side of the table to the other! Looking onto the offensive, he has never missed a smash, and the high-speed shots are full of topspin. Overall, a great rubber.
The throw of this rubber is very high, making it suitable for experienced players who can control the trajectory of their shots. While it is a good overall rubber, beginners may struggle to adjust to its high throw.
Overall:
Good rubber, but not recommended for beginner players.
Mult control dar la topspin aruncă prea jos. Nu face bucle dar la tăiate și capace bun.
Very good rubber for my liking. It is soft and spinny. I’ve been playing with it on a Kong Linghui FL blade for 1.5 months.
The dwell time is not big, so very huge fans of Donic F3 Bigslam or Joola X-tra should be a bit disappointed. It does not have a specific sound.
If you are looking for a linear and durable rubber, you can try this one. For “do it all” shots (block, drop shot, etc.), I think the Sriver G3fx is a good candidate.
The price remains in the high range, but the durability is there. This rubber is not a best seller and certainly not the Sriver new gen players were waiting for, but I think it is worth a try because speed and spin are part of this nice product from Butterfly. - Brahms
It is not easy to get used to this product; it is too bouncy, spinny, and soft. The high throw angle demands more attention when serving. It is not suitable for beginners or professionals. However, if you get used to it, these disadvantages will become your advantages. You can produce a high amount of speed and spin with little touch. It is a bit expensive though.
I used to play with various rubbers, including Tenergy05. There is a great deal of respect for Tenergy, but it is not suitable for recreational players.
This rubber is the greatest non-professional rubber I have ever played with. With Tenergy, faults are unforgiving. This rubber has truly great control, good spin, and sufficient speed.
I used this rubber on my Innerforce ALC blade. Looping, serving, and controlling the ball were all easy with this mid-fast rubber. It is a good choice for either the forehand or the backhand.
This rubber is good for more speed and G3. I like this rubber very much.
Great rubber! I think it’s a keeper. I have been winning so many games that my Chinese friends are giving up on me. You can do anything with this rubber.
I recently bought a new racket with Sriver G3 FX. I think it has much less speed than what Butterfly advertised, but I like it just the same. It has good control and spin.
This rubber is great, I love it! I get a lot of spin on my serves and great control, allowing me to play dangerous, solid loops to set up the point. Smashing to finish the point is awesome, and it produces a nice sound. All my shots were landing on the table, and, importantly, the rubber lasts a long time. I’m delighted with it.
This rubber is good, but I would recommend choosing the Bryce Speed FX instead. They are very similar, but the Bryce Speed FX has more spin and power while maintaining nearly the same level of control.
I use it on a Timo Boll Spirit CS. I found it a little slow for the forehand, but it’s a very good rubber to make the RPB because it has a lot of control.
Review:
Butterfly’s Sriver FX is a fast rubber. Compared to the Sriver G2 FX, it appears to be the second most spinny within the Sriver family, yet it is the fastest. Blocking and looping are effortless with this rubber.
Easy to play with, this rubber is fast enough for most players. It provides decent spin and good control, but the throw is a bit high. The lightweight rubber is suitable for average players. However, the sponge and topsheet are fragile, and it is a bit expensive.
This medium fast rubber features a very soft sponge and offers excellent control (except for blocking). It’s a versatile rubber that can handle various strokes. Looping is effortless, while blocking requires precision due to the high throw. Serves generate impressive spin.
If you’re seeking a rubber that excels in all areas, this option might be a suitable choice. However, it’s important to note that it’s not comparable to a glued Sriver in performance or characteristics.
