Butterfly Wakaba

Rubber description:

The Butterfly Wakaba is a versatile, beginner-friendly table tennis rubber that offers a perfect balance of speed, spin, and control. With its 5.3 rating for both speed and spin, the Wakaba allows players to generate ample power and rotation without compromising control.

The rubber's tackiness level of 0.6 enhances grip and facilitates precise ball placement, making it an excellent choice for players looking to improve their consistency. The lightweight nature of the Wakaba, with a weight of 3.3, contributes to better handling and maneuverability, especially for beginners who may struggle with heavier rubbers.

The sponge hardness of 2.3 offers a medium-soft feel that provides good feedback and shock absorption, allowing players to execute a wide range of shots with ease. The Wakaba's four-gear system enables players to adapt their playing style to different situations, from passive blocking to aggressive attacking.

Forum reviews highlight the Wakaba's exceptional control, with many users praising its stability and predictability, particularly when returning difficult serves or playing close to the table. The rubber's throw angle of 0.3 offers a relatively low trajectory, facilitating precise ball placement and keeping the ball on the table.

Although the Wakaba may not provide the highest level of speed or spin compared to more advanced rubbers, its well-rounded performance and beginner-friendly characteristics make it an ideal choice for recreational players seeking to improve their technique and consistency. Overall, the Butterfly Wakaba is a reliable choice that offers a balanced playing experience and provides a solid foundation for players looking to take their game to the next level.

Only for beginners.

I discovered this rubber over 15 years ago. As a beginner, I had a great experience using it. It taught me how to initiate a loop attack, primarily because it has almost no grip! You really have to work hard with it. I am keeping it as my no-grip racket.

Bad choice, amigo! It feels like playing with an anti-rubber on hand.
