Crafted by DHS, a renowned Chinese manufacturer, Memo 2 stands out with its balanced performance characteristics. It features an overall rating of 9 out of 10, indicating its overall excellence.

Speed: With a speed rating of 8.1, this rubber generates ample power and speed to execute aggressive shots and maintain an offensive playing style. Players can effortlessly deliver fast-paced topspins, drives, and smashes with excellent precision.

Spin: Memo 2's spin capabilities are impressive, earning it a rating of 8.8. It features a grippy topsheet that enables players to impart heavy spin and execute deceptive shots. The rubber's elasticity contributes to its exceptional spin performance, allowing for dynamic spin variations.

Control: Despite its impressive speed and spin, Memo 2 maintains a high level of control, rated at 8.5. This well-balanced characteristic ensures that players can execute consistent and accurate shots, even during intense rallies and high-pressure situations. The rubber's predictable trajectory and linear response allow for precise shot placement and control over spin and power.

Tackiness: With a tackiness rating of 2.9, Memo 2 offers a slightly tacky surface that provides good grip and ball hold. This tackiness facilitates better control, especially when imparting spin or executing delicate touch shots. It enables players to maintain a secure connection with the ball during contact, resulting in improved consistency and spin generation.

Weight: Memo 2 weighs in at 5.4 grams, making it a relatively lightweight rubber. This contributes to its excellent maneuverability and responsiveness, enabling players to execute quick movements and rapid shot transitions. The lightweight construction also reduces fatigue during extended play, allowing players to maintain their performance throughout a match.

Sponge Hardness: The sponge hardness of Memo 2 is rated at 7, indicating a medium-hard sponge. This firmness provides a good balance between speed and control, allowing players to generate sufficient power without compromising precision. The harder sponge also contributes to the rubber's durability, making it more resistant to wear and tear.

Gears: Memo 2 offers a versatility of gears, rated at 4.9. This attribute signifies the rubber's ability to adapt to different playing styles and situations. Players can effortlessly switch between attacking and defensive shots, delivering powerful smashes, controlled loops, and effective blocks with equal proficiency.

Throw Angle: The throw angle of Memo 2 is rated at 4.9, indicating a medium-high trajectory. This angle generates a more penetrating and direct flight path for the ball, making it effective for aggressive play. The higher throw angle also enables players to create more弧线(arc) and deception on their shots, making them more difficult for opponents to read.

Consistency: Memo 2 exhibits good consistency, rated at 6.7. The rubber's stable performance allows players to maintain a consistent level of play throughout a match. The predictable trajectory and linear response of the rubber contribute to its consistency, ensuring that players can execute reliable and accurate shots repeatedly.

I use this rubber (2.15 mm) on my backhand, glued to a Donic Burn Aratox blade (All+/Off-). It is an untuned rubber and performs very well for blocking and backhand topspin. Compared to other backhand rubbers I have used, I have never landed so many backhand topspins against deep chops and pushes. The push and control of this rubber are graded good plus (G+).

The very good (VG) speed and spin of the DHS Memo 2 rubber make it capable of performing excellently on the forehand of a cautious, cool-headed attacker. This is especially true when it is mounted on an Off or Off+ blade, as opposed to the common “crazy attackers.”

Overall, this rubber is another “good value for the money” option from China, particularly if purchased on sale, as I did for approximately $12.
