DHS Tin Arc 5 Mid Hard

Rubber description:

TinArc 5 is a hybrid rubber designed for players seeking an offensive, non-tacky alternative to traditional Chinese rubbers. It features a dense sponge paired with a grippy, highly elastic topsheet and a thicker pimple structure underneath. The construction is optimized for the performance characteristics of 40+ poly balls, emphasizing speed and powerful, direct shot execution over heavy arc or dwell-time-dependent loops.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Attack: The rubber provides a bouncy, energetic feel suitable for fast attacks, smashing, and aggressive play. While it offers a degree of tensor-like responsiveness, it is generally noted for a lower throw angle and direct trajectory.
  • Spin and Grip: Unlike classic Chinese rubbers, the surface is not tacky. It requires active, high-quality technique to generate spin. Users report that the rubber performs best in controlled environments, as its grip can be susceptible to significant degradation in high-humidity conditions.
  • Feel and Dwell: The rubber provides a relatively short dwell time, which facilitates effective blocking and quick ball handling near the net. Due to its firmer sponge density and non-tacky surface, it rewards precise, flatter hitting mechanics rather than brushing-heavy loop strokes.
  • Weight: It is heavier than typical European rubbers, falling into a middle-weight category compared to the heavier traditional Chinese imports.

This rubber does a fairly good job in many areas.
Lighter than traditional Chinese rubbers, but still heavier than most European rubbers.
Has some tensor effect, but not as springy as European rubbers like Tenergy series.
Surface isn’t tacky like traditional Chinese rubbers, but still requires good technique to generate spin.

Throw angle is quite low.

Nice option if you want to develop technique or if you are a beginner.

It is just a wee bit too slow for me, but I am sure it is a very good rubber.
