Andro Treiber CO OFF

Andro Treiber CO OFF - mainAndro Treiber CO OFF - composition

Blade description:

This composite blade features a 5+2 construction, balancing the stiffness inherent in its carbon composition with a surprising degree of dwell time. Despite its carbon layers, it maintains a thin profile that provides a tactile, wooden-like feedback during the short game, making it highly effective for touch shots and ball placement. While it offers enough power for mid-distance play, its primary strength lies in its predictability and stability during active blocking and counter-attacking.

Performance and Feel

  • Speed and Stiffness: Generally categorized in the OFF- to OFF range, it provides a controlled offensive character. It is noted for being thin and stiff, which assists in precise shot placement and efficient blocking.
  • Dwell and Control: Users report high levels of control, with sufficient dwell time to facilitate spin generation. This allows players to execute precise attacking shots, particularly on the backhand side.
  • Weight and Handling: Typically weighs around 85g. The handle design is a subjective point of note; while some players find the ergonomics comfortable, those with larger hands may find the grip prone to slipping, occasionally necessitating the use of an overgrip.
  • Compatibility: To maximize its offensive potential, the blade performs best when paired with fast, hard-sponge rubbers. It is well-suited for players who prioritize accuracy and technical consistency over raw, unbridled speed.

Mine blade is 85gr. Paired with G-1 and Mantra M, it delivers great power in the 2-3 zone and is stable at the close of the table. Blocking is also stable and predictable. In short games, I feel the ball very well, like with a 5wood ply blade. Speed is OFF-OFF+ (1571 hz), almost the same as Viscaria - TB ALC. The handle is perfect!

The blade’s OFF- rating offers great control for a carbon blade. For an attacker, fast and hard rubbers are recommended.

However, the handle has been a minor inconvenience for me. I ordered the ST version with my larger hands, which has led to some blade slipping. I’ve added an overgrip, but that affects the blade’s dynamics and grip flexibility.

Despite this issue, I’ve enjoyed using the blade for the past year. However, as a 1900-rated player in the US, I believe it’s time for me to move on to a more advanced blade.
