Blade description:

This blade is an all-wood, All+ class construction known for its exceptional control and tactical versatility. Characterized by its light weight—often weighing approximately 70 grams—it allows for swift wrist action and fast transitions during play. The blade features Hinoki outer plies, which contribute to its distinctive organic aesthetic and provide a high-quality, tactile feel during ball contact.

Performance Characteristics

  • Feel and Dwell: The blade offers a medium-rigid feel with excellent dwell time, facilitating easy loop production and spin variation. It provides clear, pleasant ball feedback without unnecessary vibrations.
  • Speed and Power: While categorized as an All+ blade, it provides sufficient pace to finish points when paired with appropriate rubbers. The power response is noted to be linear and predictable, making the blade forgiving and reliable.
  • Versatility: It excels in the short game, blocking, and mid-distance play. It performs consistently with both soft and hard rubber sponges, allowing players to tailor the overall speed to their specific offensive requirements. The blade is particularly well-regarded by players who prioritize accuracy and shot placement over pure, unbridled power.

The Andro brand is known for its high-quality work, and this blade is no exception. Despite having a hinoki top layer, it is a bit hard, but it offers excellent control and precision in playing. It has a good all+ speed, but this can only be achieved with a hard sponge. Unfortunately, this blade is no longer in production. I highly recommend it to all-round players. You may need to adjust your playing style slightly to get the most out of this blade.

I bought this blade some years ago because it was the prettiest blade on the shelf of our local dealer. After some weeks of playing, I put it aside because of its high bounce effect, especially when blocking. I played it with Xiom Vega 2.0 red and 1.8 black.

Now, after changing to a poly ball in our club, I gave it another try with renewed (but the same) toppings. The high bounce issue has now been dissolved. Spin is pretty good (compared to my Adidas Fiber Tec Classic Carbon blade), control is very good, and speed is sufficient to finish the point.

Wow! I have found my soul blade and will not switch until I quit playing or die! It has a fantastic wood feeling and control. I use it with Firestorm 1.8 in backhand and Rasanter R47 2.0 in forehand. It provides perfect control in every stroke, but it is also fast enough to kill. The blade has been discontinued, so I bought a few for future use. Highly recommended!
