Blade description:

This blade is a composite design featuring a Limba top layer, which provides a soft, woody feel upon contact. It incorporates Zylon fibers (ZLF) to enhance stability and springiness, resulting in a dynamic offensive profile that bridges the gap between traditional all-wood blades and stiffer carbon options. With a weight of approximately 85 grams, the blade offers a balanced feel that is particularly effective for spin-oriented playstyles.

Playing Characteristics

  • Spin and Arc: The blade is characterized by its high throw and ability to generate significant spin. The spring-like effect created by the Zylon fibers allows for a pronounced arc when looping, facilitating high-quality, spin-heavy shots.
  • Feel and Feedback: Users report a medium-soft sensation with a distinct “kick” or catapult effect when extra power is applied. The blade is described as slightly flexy, providing clear feedback during contact that aids in timing and stroke precision.
  • Control and Versatility: While optimized for offensive looping, the blade is noted for its forgiving nature, offering substantial safety margins in the short game and during blocks. It is well-suited for an aggressive allround to offensive game, allowing for efficient attacks from both wings.
  • Performance Notes: The construction is generally less rigid than carbon-composite blades, favoring players who prefer the tactile sensation of wood but desire the added stability provided by artificial fibers. It performs well with harder, high-tension rubbers, which help compensate for the blade’s moderate speed profile.

The blade is very sharp and provides a great feeling of the ball, especially at high speeds.

When tested with various rubbers, including the Donic Baracuda, it performed exceptionally well, delivering powerful spins that could overwhelm opponents.

However, the blade is rare and challenging to find in its original Japanese form.

Despite its rarity, I highly enjoyed using it, particularly with the ST handle. It facilitated effortless attacks from both sides.

Beautifully crafted Butterfly wood. The limba top layer gives a little softness during play. The ZLF layer improves control, but it’s not as good as many people here appreciate. The Donic, Nittaku, Andro rackets are much better in this regard. It is a medium attacking wood. The handle is a bit thin. Overall, it’s nice work, but it is no longer in production.

Lasse gives this blade an 8.3 overall rating. This shows the type of player that uses this blade and their opinion is worthless.
