Blade description:

This is a composite blade utilizing a 5+2 construction, featuring Zylon Carbon layers positioned in an “inner” configuration. Its design prioritizes a balance between the stability of composite materials and the dwell time typically associated with wooden blades. The blade provides a soft, woody touch and a clear, glassy sound, offering enough vibration to provide the player with feedback on ball contact.

Playing Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: The blade sits in the offensive range, offering a “gear” system that remains manageable during touch play while providing ample power for aggressive looping and mid-distance play. It is generally described as bouncy and capable of high-speed performance when struck with full power.
  • Control and Dwell: The inner-layer construction results in high dwell time, which facilitates heavy spin production. It is noted for its stability, particularly in blocking and serving, and is capable of producing a high, spin-oriented arc in loops.
  • Flexibility and Feel: It exhibits slight flexibility compared to more rigid carbon blades, contributing to a “holding” sensation during topspin strokes. The throw angle is generally considered medium to medium-low, depending on the rubber pairing.
  • Versatility: While it excels in spin-heavy offensive play, it remains effective for controlled, passive shots near the table. The blade pairs well with a variety of rubbers, though it is often noted to complement medium-soft or high-throw rubber sheets.

I have a blade in 90.5g. As always with Butterfly high-end blades, it has perfect production. I have played it until now with 729 Battle II on FH and Short Pips (Spectol S1/ 802-40) on BH.

I am an amateur (4h/week) and control is 10/10. I can do everything with both sides, even “emergency far from table chopping”. With good footwork and technique, it’s the perfect blade for an all-round player.

I like how it feels. With a soft touch, I can put the ball near the net. I can play backspin all day very easily. But when I want to attack with full power, it’s a beast. I played well from the first try, and I think this blade can be used by everyone with a little experience.

This blade is a very good all-around blade for players of all levels. It has a good balance of speed, control, and spin. The blade is also very lightweight, which makes it easy to maneuver.

The blade has a hinoki outer ply, which gives it a very good touch. The hinoki outer ply also helps to reduce vibration, which makes the blade more comfortable to play with.

The blade is also very durable, which makes it a good choice for players who are hard on their equipment.
