The Butterfly Lin Yun-Ju Super ZLC is a high-performance table tennis blade that exemplifies the blend of speed, control, and a specialized touch. Designed in collaboration with Taiwanese champion Lin Yun-Ju, this blade features a unique composition of Koto, ZLC (Zylon Carbon), Limba, and Kiri woods, streamlined to create an impressive 5.6mm thickness. This structure contributes to its outstanding reputation, offering an overall rating of 9.6 from user reviews, especially noted for its excellent speed of 9.1 and control ability of 9.5.
Weighing between 80 to 87 grams depending on the individual blade, the Lin Yun-Ju Super ZLC is considered lightweight, making it easier to maneuver during fast-paced matches. Its stiffness rating stands at 4.6, combined with a hardness of 4.7, allows players the flexibility to make intricate shots with confidence. The blade’s large sweet spot ensures that players experience minimal vibration, enhancing the overall touch and feel without sacrificing power.
Enthusiasts have found that this blade pairs exceptionally well with harder rubbers like Dignics 05 and 09c, making it ideal for near-table play and counterattacks. While some users note that softer rubbers may not perform as effectively, the consensus is clear: the Super ZLC excels in providing a crisp shot quality and excellent spin. For players looking for an alternative, the Butterfly Zhang Jike Super ZLC may present a good option, providing different dynamics in play. The Lin Yun-Ju Super ZLC stands out as a premier choice for competitive players seeking a blade that harmonizes speed, control, and precision in their game.
Great blade, similar to the Zhang Jike Super ZLC, but lighter. Mine is 78 grams and feels a bit slower, but offers higher control.
It maintains the medium throw angle and laser accuracy that are specialties of Super ZLC blades. The control is nice, and it works great with heavy, tacky, and slightly slower rubbers.
This blade is ideal for advanced players who are not concerned about its high price.
My blade is 80g FL, with Dignics 09c 2.1mm on both sides, which adds up to a 179g racket.
The center of gravity is slightly shifted towards the handle, which makes it feel easily light if not paired with heavier rubbers. It is a blade for near the table maneuvers, countering and flicking. Very large sweet spot with no vibration almost. It’s the kind of blade that takes getting used to and doesn’t necessarily make you feel like you’re ripping very powerful forehands or producing tremendous amounts of spin, yet your balls somehow do hand on the opponent’s side with formidable spin and speed.
I use this fantastic blade with 09c on FH (2.1mm) and t19 on BH (2.1mm). While this blade may not pair well with all hard rubbers, it excels with rubbers like 09c. However, it does not perform as well with hurricane or sanwei target.
This blade is the primary reason I chose to use t19 on BH. It is lightweight, fast, and effortless to block your opponents’ shots, sending the ball immediately back at them. Passive blocking to the short table can be challenging when the ball speed is already high, but adding a kick to your block is straightforward with a light flick.
Due to its excellent maneuverability and enhanced backhand capabilities, it is no wonder that this blade bears the name of LIN yun ju.
