The Butterfly Power Defence table tennis blade is a well-rounded 5-ply blade designed for all-around play, striking a balance between speed and control. With a speed rating of 7 and a control rating of 8, it caters to a wide range of players, from beginners seeking control to intermediate and advanced players looking for a responsive blade that facilitates both offensive and defensive techniques.
Constructed with ayous as the core material, the Power Defence provides excellent consistency and a dwell time that allows players to execute precise shots. It offers a good level of stiffness (8.3) and hardness (7.2), making it suitable for a variety of playing styles and strokes. The blade's overall rating of 8.3 is a testament to its versatility and performance across different aspects of the game.
With a weight ranging from 95 to 97 grams, the Power Defence is relatively lightweight, promoting fast reflexes and maneuverability. It features a comfortable grip that enhances control and facilitates quick transitions between different types of shots.
Based on forum reviews, the Butterfly Power Defence is particularly popular among players who value control and consistency. It is praised for its ability to generate spin and its responsiveness to various techniques, making it an excellent choice for all-around play.
However, some advanced players may find the Power Defence to be slightly lacking in speed for their aggressive playing style. Additionally, the blade may not be ideal for players seeking maximum power and explosiveness in their shots.
Overall, the Butterfly Power Defence is a well-crafted blade that strikes a balance between speed and control, catering to a wide range of players. Its consistency, lightweight design, and comfortable grip make it a reliable choice for players seeking versatility and overall performance in their table tennis game.
The blade has high stiffness and a large handle. Its color is dark.
Currently, I use Donic S3 Max for forehand and Globe 979 0.6 mm for backhand. The blade is powerful, but control for forehand is lacking. However, the pimple works well.
Pushing and blocking are easy, especially for flat hits. Attacking is also easy and dangerous for the opponent. Executing attacks is straightforward, even as a novice in long pimple play.
In my opinion, this blade is optimal for long pimple play.
