Blade Construction and Speed

Despite its initial review score of 10/10 for speed, my own assessment places it closer to an 8.8/10. This is based on the CS version I possess, which I believe has a construction of Koto + Tamca 5000 + Kiri (core) + Tamca 5000 + Koto. I have not confirmed this officially, but I have contacted Butterfly for clarification. If my assumption is incorrect, I will promptly correct it.

Additional Information from Butterfly

Upon contacting Butterfly directly, I was informed that they were unaware of the exact composition of the blade. However, they provided an educated guess that aligns with my assessment, except for the outer layers, which they believe are Hinoki instead of Koto.

Characteristics and Playability

This blade offers a balance between OFF and OFF+ speed, with a satisfying level of vibration feedback. Its premium quality is evident in its construction in Japan. As an RPB penholder blade, it strikes a balance between weight (74g) and speed thanks to the Tamca 5000 layer. It excels at generating spin with its Koto outer plies and lightweight design, rivaling the capabilities of modern inner-carbon professional blades while maintaining a lower weight.

Recommended Rubbers

For the forehand, I prefer the DHS Skyline TG3 NEO. For the (RPB) backhand, I opt for hybrid rubbers with a high throw angle, such as Dignics 09C, Tibhar Hybrid K3, Victas V22 Double Extra, Rakza Z, or others with a hard spring sponge and tacky topheet.

Availability and Note

As of May 7, 2023, I am aware of only two stores that stock this blade exclusively in the CS version. Production from Butterfly has also ceased.
