DHS Hurricane 301 Z

Composite/carbon

Comparing directly to H301:

Feels more complete. The H301 model felt too soft or flexy. This blade has good feeling. The blade is still light. The composition combination definitely brings a more “strengthened feeling” compared to 301. It is still somewhat soft and precise for the short game, though, which is a dream.

Driving is more linear and feels faster than 301. Very neat for looping. Quite some vibrations, which for me gives good feeling, but others may not like.

I feel DHS has taken all the benefits of 301 and upgraded other areas to create 301z. This is probably the most quality blade I have by feeling.

I put 1 coat of DHS sealer as 301 models are known to split. I also used DHS glue. Everything DHS.

Excellent Blade. FH: H3N 40BS, BH: Nittaku Factive Super Thick. Suitable for hard rubbers.

Excellent control on touch shots, close to the table play. Lifting backspin is easy and can impart a lot of spin. Mid-distance play, is also good.

It’s a keeper.

This is a typical representative of the 301 family, but it has one big plus. Probably, the manufacturer varnished the blade, and when re-gluing the chips, they do not stick to the rubber. It is also an excellent blade for playing topspin and is highly compatible with Hurricane 3 rubbers.
